Episode 19: The Funky Phantom
On this episode of When You Hear This Sound, we’re heading back to 1971 for an obscure Hanna-Barbera cartoon starring a dead guy and his dead cat. That’s right – it’s The Funky Phantom!
SHOW NOTES:
The Funky Phantom has become a recent obsession after I first heard about it from Michael May on the After Lunch podcast on a couple occasions. Nothing could prepare me for this wild Scooby-Doo carbon copy. It’s delightfully silly and quaint.
Good work on covering the subject!
Hehe. It was a pretty wild show! That whole era of Scooby-Doo knock-offs was such an interesting example of kids’ TV at the time.
